While the BNI Foundation provides financial grants, the Business Voices initiative is specifically designed to move beyond just writing a check. It focuses on “Cause Networking”—identifying local needs and leveraging a chapter’s collective “time, talent, and treasure” to solve them.
The SBE Casino Night perfectly illustrates this. It isn’t just a fundraiser; it’s a high-visibility event where over 60 local business owners coordinate their professional skills (marketing, event planning, logistics) to advocate for a specific cause. It transforms the chapter from a referral group into a community advocate.
Strategic “Adoption” of Local Education
Business Voices encourages chapters to “adopt” a local school or educational program to create systemic change rather than providing one-off donations. The goal is to bridge the gap between what the school needs and what the community can provide.
The SBE’s partnership with Fair Oaks Elementary School is a textbook example of this focus. By branding the Casino Night with the slogan “Bet Big on these Kids,” the chapter creates a long-term, recognizable commitment to a specific group of students. Whether you’re hitting the Blackjack table or spinning the Roulette wheel, every chip played helps us “Bet Big on these Kids” at Fair Oaks Elementary.
The SBE Casino Night is an annual charity fundraiser organized by the Smyrna Business Exchange, the top-performing BNI chapter in Georgia. The event’s main goal is to “Bet Big on these Kids” by raising funds to support Fair Oaks Elementary School. It brings together over 60 local businesses and community members for a night of networking and giving back.
The 2026 Casino Night event is hosted at the Governor’s Gun Club (located at 1005 Cobb Pl Blvd NW, Kennesaw, GA). Guests can expect a professional casino experience featuring classic table games like Blackjack, Craps, and Roulette. Since it is a charity event, the games are played with “funny money” or chips that can typically be used to enter raffles or win prizes, ensuring a fun, high-energy atmosphere without the risk of real-money gambling.
There are several ways for local businesses to participate beyond attending as a guest:
